Commute between Seoul and suburb-daily life

Seoul is the capital of the South Korea, but many people also live in suburb cities where are around the Seoul. However, Seoul is the main city of the Korea economy that most of the companies and universities are located in Seoul. Accordingly, many people who live in suburb commute to Seoul, and I also live in suburb that I commute to Seoul everyday. Today I will introduce my daily commute.

I can go my office for two ways; bus and subway. Mostly, when I go to the office I take the bus and when I come back home I take the subway.

1. Going Seoul with bus

This picture is the line for the bus which goes to Seoul. It was 8:30am on morning, and I was waiting for going office. There were so many people that after I passed 5 buses, finally could took the bus.

However, already the bus was full of people and I had to stand up on the bus. This picture is the inside of the morning bus.

Even the bus is full of people on morning, me and many other people prefer to take bus instead of the self car. The most important reason is in the bus-only lane system.

This is the picture which I took in front of the bus. On weekdays there is the bus-only lane from 7am to 9pm. Even the road is full of cars, the line for the bus is fine and could arrive in Seoul more faster than driving a car.

If the traffic is not heavy, normally 30 minutes takes to go Seoul from my home. Finally I’m on the bridge which is in the way for going Seoul. I was crossing the Han river.

2. Go home with subway

Usually I go home with subway. On morning the bus is more faster but on evening it took more time. There is the bus-only lane in the highway that it is fast, but in inside the city the traffic is heavier than on morning.

This is the picture of inside the subway in the rush hour. Many people also take the subway to go home.

Taking the crowded public transportation in everyday makes me tired, but there is one advantage! It is good at consume the calories.:) I have to stand up total 2hours on a day and also have to walk that it makes me to exercise naturally. In the news report it says If you take the public transportation, you consume the calories twice more than driving the car. For one hour’s commute, using the public transportation can burn 211 calories, but driving the car burns 105 calories.

Korean blood type superstitions

Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 8.29.18 PM

In Korea, the often question people often asked is “What’s your blood type?”. Many Korean believe the blood type affect to the individual personalities. Of course, none of these are scientifically proven, but people believe blood type descriptions fit quite well. Normally I don’t believe the superstition and unscientific things, but some of my friends guess the people’s blood type well that partially I do believe the blood type superstitions.:)

The theory that blood type is linked to personality is popular mainly in Japan, though it has carried over to Taiwan and South Korea. It was started by the Germans in 1901 who, after the discovery that certain races are more likely to be predominantly of certain blood types. Later It was revived again in 1971 by Masahiko Nomi’s book Understanding Affinity Through Blood Type.

Following are the personality traits ascribed to the basic blood types: A, B, AB and O.

BLOOD TYPE A

People with type A blood are known to be more conservative and introverted than the others, often finding difficulty in expressing emotions or trusting others. They’re extremely patient, considerate, and reserved, but also highly creative and perfectionists, often giving people the impression as being stubborn, tense, and uptight.

Men with type A blood are said to be the friendly natured ones with good personalities. They’re very punctual, always expecting the best results in everything they do, but are also very sensitive and willing to give up everything they have for those they love. Due to their sensitive natures, they’re very fragile-hearted and often get hurt easily.

The women, however, tend to be very greedy and have a hard time finding satisfaction easily. They’re strong prides often lead them to act emotionless. However, they’re very loyal and caring, which often results to extreme jealousy or emotional damage upon feeling betrayed. They prefer living according to schedule, are intimidated by spontaneity, and feel distress in sudden environmental changes.

BLOOD TYPE B

People with type B blood are said to be the passionate, wild, and creative ones of the four. They’re independent, but also very passionate about the people and things they love. They tend to think outside the box and live very liberal lifestyles rather than limiting themselves to one environment. However, they can also get impatient and give up easily, often coming off as being lazy, self-centered, shallow, and irresponsible.

Men with type B blood have a negative reputation for their strong prides and self-centered personalities. They hate those who underestimate their abilities or fail to give them the attention they want. However, they’re very smart and popular due to their sense of humor, fall in love easily but lose interest just as fast, and tend to act before they think. They’re good liars, and often get annoyed when asked to do something.

The women, not much different from the men, hate being controlled by rules and tend to speak their minds, regardless of what the other person might feel, but can also get affected by their own emotions easily, resulting in constant mood swings. They tend to get bored and lose interest quickly, making spontaneity a vital factor in their everyday lives—this also makes it difficult to maintain long-term relationships. They hate attachment or being confined to one area, and while they’re not the easiest to anger, they can get extremely stoic and have difficulty finding peace.

BLOOD TYPE O

People with type O blood are outgoing, energetic, optimistic, and known to be natural leaders. They like speaking their minds while maintaining a friendly attitude, and possess high self-confidence which leads them to be highly ambitious and obsessed with success. They convince themselves that they’re winners and hate losing. They also tend to be dramatic, arrogant, insensitive, and ruthless, but are known to have the best personalities out of the four blood types. They often tend to tire themselves out due to their need to take care of everyone around them.

Men with blood type O are extremely sensitive, emotional, and tend to trust easily. They’re very aware and critical of their surroundings and enjoy participating in group activities, which emphasizes the active and leadership skills they posses. They often hide their feelings and find it difficult to express them due to fear of rejection.

The women, however, are very active and nice, but also extremely bold and unexpected. They lose control of their stress easily and end up getting hurt or experience loneliness more often than others. However, they’re extremely caring and patient and usually treat others’ problems as if they were their own. They might look strong on the outside, but they’re very weak and fragile and prefer being in a small group rather than big ones.

BLOOD TYPE AB

People with blood type AB are known to be either the genius or the psycho ones of the group. While they might look active on the outside, they can be very sensitive and shy, but also extremely loud and strong. They’re rational thinkers with strong concentration skills and are more controlled by their heads rather than their hearts. They can also be shy and aloof, indecisive, and sometimes distance themselves from others, leading some people to think of them as two-faced, untrustworthy, and unpredictable.

Men with type AB blood can often come across as cold and distant on first meetings. However, they’re more caring than most people and are always the first ones to forgive. They give up on things easily, often jumping around from one activity to the next, and adjust to new environments extremely quickly. Because they’re extremely shy people, they tend to hide their feelings and often come across as emotionally detached. People usually don’t associate them with trustworthy characteristics at first, but find that they’re very honest and romantic with those they’re most comfortable with.

Women with type AB blood are often two-faced—they’re very curious about other peoples’ businesses, but hate disclosing any of their own and usually like being left alone. They can be extremely caring and considerate at times, but also very selfish, impatient, and suspicious of other people. They’re more free and unaffected by their surroundings than reserved, and while they might not look like it, they’re extremely vulnerable to their feelings.
